Video: The Master Plan for the Academic City is Ready, Says Pashinyan
The master plan for the Academic City to be constructed in Armenia is now complete. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced this.
“The German company GMP has sent me a package of the master plan for the Academic City, which is approximately 450 pages long. A very fundamental job has been done here. It analyzes the direction of the winds, what kind of views should open from the platform, what kind of vegetation should be present, and so on. I’m showing this not only because the project of the Academic City is materializing, but also because it represents a culture in our reality,” he said.
It is noteworthy that the government plans to relocate universities and research institutions to create clusters based on them.
The Academic City will be allocated in Yerevan's 17th district and on the territory of “Hayfilm.”
On July 9, Tobias Keil, the Deputy Director of gmp International GmbH Architects and Engineers, also stated that the complete realization of the Academic City could take 20-30 years, but their priority is to initially complete the construction of educational and public buildings. Keil emphasized that public transport, concert halls, and cultural centers are also a priority for them.
