Identity of the Drivers and Victims of the Overturned Truck and Route 36 Bus Established
On August 11, following a decision by Gor Aloyan, head of the Road Traffic Crimes Investigation Division of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a detective group led by senior investigator Gegham Sargsyan initiated a criminal case which clarified the identities of the drivers involved in an incident on Heratsi Street in Yerevan, where an overturned 'SHAANXI' truck carrying several tons of wheat collided with a 'MAN' bus serving route 36 of the Yerevan municipality.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the truck was driven by 30-year-old Stepan M. from Gegharqunik Province, while the bus was operated by 33-year-old Tigran A. from Ararat Province. The collision also damaged a 'Toyota' vehicle parked by 52-year-old Lilia G. from Yerevan.
As a result of the accident, the truck driver Stepan M., along with several bus passengers—73-year-old Gor M. and 23-year-old Melsida M. from Lori Province, 18-year-old Arthur G., 21-year-old Fenya B. from Kotayk Province, 37-year-old Hermine M., 42-year-old Hegine H., 28-year-old Gevorg R. from Tavush Province, 17-year-old Hakob K. from Gegharqunik Province, 47-year-old Arnak K., 47-year-old Arsen V. from Vayots Dzor Province, 65-year-old Anahit A., and 56-year-old Marine M. and 68-year-old Rouzanna A. from Kotayk Province—were transported with injuries to 'Heratsi No. 1' University Hospital.
Additionally, 43-year-old David G. and 57-year-old Shushan H. from Yerevan were taken to the 'Yerevan' medical center, 43-year-old Nelli M. was taken to 'Erebuni' medical center, and 48-year-old Tegush G. was transported to 'Saint Gregory the Illuminator' medical center.
It was also clarified that the 'Toyota' vehicle was not damaged as a direct result of the accident, but rather when the truck overturned, the sacks of wheat fell and struck the 'Toyota.'
