Elina Avanesyan has secured her first victory representing Armenia. The world’s 58th-ranked player triumphed in the first round of qualifying at the WTA-1000 tournament in Cincinnati, defeating Lauren Davis (USA, ranked 410th) with a score of 6-3, 6-1. The match lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes.
The Armenian tennis player is set to compete in the second round of qualification against Harriet Dart (Great Britain, ranked 78th).
