Threat Poses Risks Not Only to Kursk NPP, but to Global Nuclear Energy: Rosatom
The actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces present a direct threat not only to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) but also to the entire global nuclear energy sector. This was stated by Alexey Likhachev, the CEO of Rosatom, during a conversation with Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"On August 8, parts and debris of missiles were discovered in the vicinity of the NPP, including within the territory of the radioactive waste processing complex. Following the actions of the Kyiv regime, the transformer substation was disabled on the evening of August 9, resulting in the city of Kurchatov, closest to Kursk NPP, being left without electricity," the statement said.
