Tensions Persist in Kursk Region
In the Kursk region of Russia, the alert for missile strikes has been declared five times today. The acting head of the region, Alexey Smirnov, reported that Russian air defense systems intercepted a Ukrainian missile in the sky over Kursk.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced that Russian forces struck Ukrainian manpower in the southern outskirts of Suja and hit the reserves of the Ukrainian armed forces in the territory of the Sumy region.
It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces have prevented attempts by Ukrainian armed forces to penetrate deep into Russian territory in the Ivashkovsky, Malaya Loknya, and Olgovka regions. Throughout the course of the offensive toward Kursk, Ukrainian armed forces have suffered human losses exceeding 1,100, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“During the military operation in the Kursk direction, the enemy has lost up to 1,120 servicemen, as well as 140 units of armored vehicles, including 22 tanks, 20 armored personnel carriers, 8 infantry fighting vehicles, 88 armored combat vehicles, 13 vehicles, 2 Buch M1 self-propelled air defense systems, a BM-21 Grad system, and 6 field artillery pieces,” the Russian Ministry of Defense stated.
Organized voluntary evacuation is being carried out in the Khomutovsky and Glushkovsky districts of the Kursk region. Yuri Khrulev, the head of the Khomutovsky district, wrote: “Despite the fact that the situation in our territory is calm and there are no military operations, the organized departure of residents continues for security reasons, both independently with personal transport and in a centralized manner with prepared vehicles.”
