Paris 2024: Garik Karapetyan Finishes Fourth

Garik Karapetyan, a member of the Armenian Olympic team, European champion, and two-time world champion among youth in the 102 kg weight category, has begun his competition at the Olympic Games taking place in Paris.

After the snatch event, Karapetyan was in second place, but during the clean and jerk, he finished with a combined total of 398 kg, settling for fourth place.

In the snatch, Karapetyan lifted a total of 186 kg. In his first attempt, he successfully lifted 180 kg, but failed on his second attempt with 186 kg. However, he managed to lift 186 kg on his third attempt.

In the clean and jerk, he succeeded only in his second attempt, lifting 212 kg overhead.

The Olympic champion in this weight category was Liu Huahuan from China.
