Paris 2024: Weightlifters Enter the Fray at the Olympic Games

At the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, Armenia will have only one representative competing on August 9. In the weightlifting competition taking place at the South Paris Arena, athletes in the 89 kg weight category will be battling for medals.

Andranik Karapetyan, a member of the Armenian team, will begin his competition at his second Olympic Games. The 28-year-old Karapetyan is a bronze medalist from the World Championships, an European champion, and has won a silver and two bronze medals.

Other members of Armenia's weightlifting team, Garik Karapetyan and Varazdat Lalayan, will compete on August 10.

It is worth noting that as part of Armenia's Olympic team, gymnast Arthur Davtyan and Arthur Aleksanyan have already secured silver medals at Paris-2024, while Malkhas Amoyan has won a bronze medal.
