Hezbollah May Strike Israel Regardless of Iran's Intentions: CNN
The Lebanese Hezbollah movement is likely to strike Israel regardless of Iran's intentions, according to two sources familiar with intelligence data who spoke to CNN.
One of the sources indicated that Hezbollah is moving faster in its planning than Iran and is preparing to launch an attack on Israel in the coming days. Meanwhile, Iran appears to still be formulating its response to Israel, multiple officials told the media.
An American military official revealed to CNN that Iran has made some, but not all, preparations that the U.S. expects to see in a major assault on Israel. It remains unclear how, or if, Iran and Hezbollah are coordinating a potential attack, the informed source said, suggesting that the two may not necessarily agree on the timing of a possible strike.
It should be noted that Israel is preparing for possible attacks from Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement in the coming days, and it assumes that the assaults may come from multiple fronts.
It is worth recalling that Iran and Hezbollah have vowed to respond to Israel for the deaths of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau in Tehran, and Fuad Shukr, one of Hezbollah's commanders in Lebanon.
