Lawyer Roman Yeritsyan's Brother Arrested Again

The brother of lawyer Roman Yeritsyan, Aram Yeritsyan, has been arrested again. This was announced by Roman Yeritsyan on his Facebook page. He did not provide any further details.

It is worth reminding that on August 1, Yeritsyan had reported that his brother was brutally beaten and taken to a police station by about 10 officers. Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that an internal investigation had been launched regarding the assault on Yeritsyan.

On August 2, the Ministry clarified its position regarding the lawyer’s statement, deeming it false, emphasizing that “Yeritsyan was not assaulted; rather, during his arrest, he struck back and resisted the officers, upon which a criminal case was initiated.” On the same day, the Investigative Committee reported that Yeritsyan had been arrested on suspicion of interfering with the lawful activities of the officers.

Subsequently, the court denied the request for his detention, recognizing the arrest as unlawful.
