Caretaker Who Assaulted Child in Pokr Vedi Kindergarten Dismissed

The caretaker who perpetrated violence against a child at the Pokr Vedi kindergarten has been dismissed from work effective August 1, 2024, as per their own request. This information was conveyed to Tert.am by Karen Stepanyan, the head of the Pokr Vedi administrative district.

Recall that on July 26, a video surfaced on social media showing a kindergarten employee assaulting a child. The incident occurred in May. Following the video's circulation, the director of the kindergarten was summoned by the Ararat division of the National Police, and a report was filed. The 45-year-old caretaker was subsequently arrested.

It should also be noted that the caretaker has been charged under Article 196, Part 2, Section 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (inflicting severe pain or physical suffering on a minor). However, the child's parents have not filed a complaint against the caretaker, and he will not face any legal consequences.
