VIDEO: Search Operations for Missing Citizen Resume in Aghstev River
As of 6:00 AM on August 6, search operations for a citizen in the Aghstev River have resumed. The efforts involve 36 rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 4 divers, police officers, and military personnel.
In the riverbank areas (a 4 km section), aerial reconnaissance measures using drones from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Defense are also being implemented. The search operations are ongoing.
It is important to note that on August 5, at 3:14 PM, the National Crisis Management Center received information that two citizens had entered the Aghstev River to swim in the village of Azatamut in the Tavush province and had gone missing from sight. Rescuers and divers recovered the body of H. E. (born in 1990) from the river.
Due to darkness, the search and rescue operations were temporarily suspended. Rescuers had established watches in two sections.
