Karen Giloyan Comments on Arthur Davtyan's Performance

The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Karen Giloyan, highly praised the performance of Arthur Davtyan, a member of the Armenian Olympic team, world and European champion, and bronze medalist of Tokyo 2020, at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, where the Armenian gymnast secured a silver medal.

“The first medal is here. Arthur Davtyan had a brilliant performance, and I congratulate both Arthur and all of us on this occasion. Arthur made it to the finals in 7th place, and although everything resets at the final, it still has a psychological effect. He also performed last in the final, while 7 athletes had already completed their jumps with very high scores. You need to have a strong mindset to do what you are capable of at that moment. Arthur managed to do that. I thank him; it was a strong jump from a strong man,” said Karen Giloyan.

The Deputy Minister also addressed the “Armenian Olympic House,” which is operational throughout the Olympic Games in Paris. Here, fans have the opportunity to watch the performances of Armenian athletes on a big screen and meet with them. “This is undoubtedly an important initiative that has already received several positive responses from our international partners, including ministers responsible for sports from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian countries. This indicates that we are on the right track. We have already had several meetings, and there will be more events coming up,” stated Karen Giloyan, adding that tomorrow, August 5, gymnasts Arthur Davtyan, Vahagn Davtyan, and boxer David Chalyan will be hosted at the “Armenian Olympic House.”

The event will also feature the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to France, Hasmik Tolmajyan, Deputy Mayor of Paris Arno Ngatchan, other officials, and representatives of the Armenian community. Entry is free.

The “Armenian Olympic House” is located in the building of the Armenian General Benevolent Union at 118 Rue, Courcelles 75017, Paris. Visitors can enjoy joint screenings of Olympic competitions, meet famous athletes, and purchase memorabilia to support Armenian athletes in the arenas.
