Video: Added Carriages, Opening of New Stations, New Payment System. Changes in the Metro

The three-carriage trains are more comfortable and efficient. Babken Sedrakyan, the Acting Director of Yerevan Metro, shared this insight during an interview with Auroranews.

“Renovation work has been underway since last year. Currently, we have 4 three-car trains, 9 two-car trains, and 2 single-car trains. The three-car trains are significantly more comfortable and efficient, especially during peak hours when passenger transport is at its highest,” he stated.

According to him, the addition of three-car trains has met its objectives by 100%. When asked if there are any plans to add more carriages in the near future, Sedrakyan mentioned that there are none at the moment, but it is expected that new trains will be purchased as part of future upgrades.
