The US Punishes Georgia: $95 Million Aid Cut
The United States is halting its aid program to Georgia due to the adoption of the "Foreign Agents" law, announced US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“Following the Georgian government's 'anti-democratic actions' on May 23, I declared that the bilateral cooperation between the United States and Georgia would be comprehensively reviewed. As a result, the United States is suspending over $95 million in aid intended to assist the Georgian government,” stated Secretary Blinken in his announcement.
