Iran Raises Red Flag of Revenge at Jamkaran Mosque Dome

Following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a red flag has been raised at Iran's Jamkaran Mosque as a sign of revenge. This flag was previously hoisted in January after explosions occurred at a cemetery in Kerman city, resulting in numerous casualties, according to RIA Novosti.

The flag was also raised in January 2020 after the assassination of Qassem Soleimani. In Shia tradition, red flags symbolize a call for vengeance for unjustly shed blood and for slain individuals.

Earlier, the Palestinian Hamas movement declared that the responsibility for Haniyeh's assassination lies with the United States and Israel. According to Mahmoud Tahh, a representative of Hamas in Lebanon, Washington agreed to the elimination of the head of the political bureau in Iran.
