Klaar on Rubinyan-Kilic Meeting

The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, has emphasized the significance of the meeting between the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey. He made a statement on the social media platform X.

"The normalization of relations and the restoration of ties between Turkey and Armenia are crucial elements for a more stable and prosperous South Caucasus," Klaar wrote.

It is noteworthy that the fifth meeting between Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic took place on July 30 at the Margara-Alijian border area. The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that Yerevan and Ankara have agreed to assess the technical needs that will enable the operation of the Akhurik-Akyaka railway border crossing, as well as mutually facilitate the visa procedures for holders of diplomatic/official passports. They have highlighted the importance of continuing the process of normalizing bilateral relations without any preconditions.
