Fire Breaks Out in Rome, Evacuations Underway: What We Know

A fire has broken out in the Monte Mario area of Rome. The blaze started near a courthouse and a building housing the RAI news agency. Local residents reported hearing several explosions. Six residential buildings have been evacuated, and four vehicles have been burned.

Authorities in Rome stated that the fire ignited in a campsite situated on the hill where food was being prepared. Strong winds and hot weather have contributed to the rapid spread of the fire through the vegetation.
