VIDEO: Explosion at Germany's Largest Chemical Plant Injures Several
18 people have been injured at the BASF plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany. According to local media reports, there has been an "organic solvent leak." A cloud of smoke spread over nearby areas, causing panic among residents.
The company has stated that there has been no contamination of air, water, or soil. Earlier, BASF announced the closure of two plants. The facility located in Cologne will cease operations by the end of 2024, while the Frankfurt plant on the Main River is expected to be closed in 2025.
