Erdogan Reveals He Declined to Attend Paris Olympics Opening at Granddaughter's Request

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that he declined an invitation to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris at the request of his granddaughter. “Macron invited me to the opening of the Olympic Games, and I said it was possible I would come. But my 13-year-old granddaughter told me, ‘Grandpa, don’t go there.’ I asked her why, and she replied, ‘There will be LGBTQ propaganda there.’ Then she showed me a video. ‘Okay, my dear, I won’t go,’ I said,” Erdogan has recounted.
