The potential military conflict surrounding Taiwan will have repercussions worldwide, making it crucial to maintain peace and stability in the region. This statement was made by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a press conference in Manila following a "2+2" meeting that included U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the heads of Philippine foreign affairs and defense ministries, Enrique Manalo and Gilberto Teodoro.

“There is a global understanding that if a crisis occurs in Taiwan, its consequences will affect everyone and will have a global nature. Fifty percent of global container transportation passes through the Taiwan Strait, and 70% of semiconductor production capacity is concentrated in Taiwan. That is why we are all focused on maintaining peace, stability, and the status quo,” Blinken stated.
