Kilich Comments on Meeting with Rubinyan
In the Armenian-Turkish negotiations, Turkey's special representative Serdar Kilic has commented on his meeting today with Armenia's special representative Ruben Rubinyan. He posted a video from the meeting on X, stating: "We held the fifth round of meetings in the border zone between Turkey and Armenia, in the morning on the Armenian side and at noon on the Turkish side. We discussed all aspects of the settlement process with constructive mutual understanding and examined possibilities for further progress."
It is noteworthy that on July 30, the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kilic, held their fifth meeting at the Margara-Alijan border checkpoint between the two countries. According to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they reaffirmed the agreements reached during previous meetings.
Additionally, they agreed to assess the technical needs in accordance with regional developments, which would enable the operationalization of the Akhurik/Akyaka railway border checkpoint, as well as mutually ease visa procedures for holders of diplomatic/official passports. In conclusion, they once again emphasized their agreement to continue the settlement process without any preconditions in order to achieve the ultimate goal of comprehensive settlement between the two countries.
