Yerevan Expects the Same Commitment and Readiness from Ankara: Clarification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Republic of Armenia is committed to fulfilling all agreements reached within the framework of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey and expects the same from Ankara. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to Sputnik Armenia's written inquiry.
The Foreign Ministry clarified that Yerevan anticipates the same commitment and readiness from Ankara, including regarding the issue of opening the Armenian-Turkish land border for citizens of third countries and individuals holding diplomatic passports.
Regarding the meeting of the special representatives on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, the Foreign Ministry noted that if specific agreements are reached, the public will be informed in due time.
It is worth recalling that in December 2021, Yerevan and Ankara appointed special representatives for negotiations on the normalization of relations. In July 2022, an agreement was reached in Vienna to ensure the ability of citizens from third countries to cross the Armenian-Turkish land border, as well as to initiate direct air transportation of goods and the necessary processes for this.
