Two Issues Arise at Paris Olympic Games
Visitors to the Paris Olympic Games have encountered shortages of drinking water and transportation. This was reported by Iranian IRNA news agency journalist Sayyid Javad Bashiri.
The transportation issue is the first challenge faced by arrivals in France. There are no special airport transfers in Paris, and escalators at metro stations are not operational.
“France has assured until now that it is spending large sums to accommodate those wishing to participate in the competitions. However, representatives of the media and guests are encountering problems even regarding drinking water,” Bashiri stated.
The Summer Olympic Games in Paris are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11. In late February 2022, the International Olympic Committee issued a message to international sports federations advising them not to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competitions. By the end of 2023, the organization decided to permit Russians and Belarusians to compete as neutral athletes until the 2024 Olympic Games, provided they meet certain criteria to qualify.
On July 18, the IOC published the complete list of accepted Russian athletes for the 2024 Olympic Games, totaling 15 individuals.
