Ukraine Has a Plan. Syrskiy Highlights the Country's Key Objective

Ukraine has a plan to reclaim Crimea, which is currently occupied by Russia. The intention to de-occupy the peninsula is entirely realistic, stated the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskiy, in an interview with the Guardian.

He added that this plan is a significant military secret. “Returning Crimea is realistic. We will do everything we can to reach the internationally recognized borders of 1991. We must achieve victory to liberate our citizens in the occupied territories who are suffering,” Syrskiy said.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also mentioned that a key objective for Ukraine is to destroy the Kerch Bridge, which connects the occupied peninsula to Russia. At the same time, Syrskiy declined to specify when this could occur.

“The Russians were forced to completely withdraw from the port of Sevastopol in Crimea after a series of Ukrainian attacks, as radar and missile systems were destroyed there due to Ukrainian drone and missile strikes,” Syrskiy explained.
