Geomagnetic Storm to Hit Earth

On July 24, a moderate geomagnetic storm will begin on Earth, according to scientists from the Institute of Space Research at the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Scientists estimate that there is a 30% chance that a minor magnetic storm (G1 level) will commence around 07:00 Yerevan time, which is expected to strengthen to a G2 level by 10:00. The geomagnetic storm is anticipated to fully subside by 16:00.

This upcoming geomagnetic storm may be triggered by several medium-level (M class) solar flares that occurred the previous day, as well as two additional flares on Tuesday, July 23.

Meanwhile, a group of American scientists from the Universities of Colorado and Maryland concluded that solar storms could pose threats not only to Earth's orbiting satellites and communication systems but could also disrupt other critical infrastructure, including the operation of pipelines.
