Strong Earthquake Felt in Various Parts of Armenia
An earthquake was reported 36 km southeast of the city of Gurjaani, Georgia. This information was provided by the Emergency Situations Ministry of Armenia.
On July 22, at 12:08 local time (08:08 GMT), the seismic monitoring network of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 at a depth of 10 km, located at geographical coordinates 41.44° N latitude and 45.95° E longitude, 36 km southeast of Gurjaani in Georgia. The intensity of the underground shaking in the epicentral area was measured at 6-7 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt in the Tavush Province at a magnitude of 5-6, in the cities of Alaverdi and Vanadzor in Lori Province at 4, and in the city of Hrazdan in Kotayk Province at a magnitude of 3.
