My Imprisonments Are Nothing When an Entire Nation is Captive: Vahagn Chakhalyan is Free

Vahagn Chakhalyan, the head of the "Kamk" initiative, is free. "Just at this moment, my two-month house arrest has ended, and I am free. Few know that this is not my first house arrest. In the 2000s, during Robert Kocharyan's rule, I was also placed under house arrest by the National Security Service for political reasons, which at that time was headed by Serzh Sargsyan. But I am not talking about the past; I am speaking about the present and the future, especially since what does not kill us makes us stronger. My imprisonments are insignificant when an entire nation is imprisoned, both inside and outside of Armenia. First and foremost, I wish freedom to our comrades in the struggle: Gerasim Vardanyan, Karapet Poghosyan, and the other political prisoners, including the political leadership of Artsakh in prisons in Baku.

Secondly, I want to express my deep gratitude to all those who supported me openly and privately, to us, and to our struggle. I especially want to thank my lawyers, Vahan Hovhannisyan and Aleksan Tumasyan. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my comrades in arms, in the party, and in the struggle; you are unique and deserving of victory and a powerful Armenia. I also want to thank the pro-Armenian journalists who didn't allow the injustices we faced to be forgotten during these days.
