Earthquake in Turkey: What is Known

An earthquake has occurred in the Çanakkale province of Turkey, with authorities reporting no negative consequences so far. This was stated by the head of Turkey's Ministry of Internal Affairs, as reported by TASS.

“Representatives from the Emergency Situations Authority and relevant organizations have begun to assess the Çanakkale province, where a 4.7 magnitude earthquake has taken place. At this time, there are no reports of negative consequences from the earthquake,” the minister wrote on his X account.

The source of the seismic activity was located at a depth of 10.2 km. The tremor was felt in neighboring provinces of Çanakkale as well as in Istanbul.
