Foreign National Seizes Officer's Gun and Opens Fire: MoD

In the early hours around 00:50, a foreign citizen was brought to the Kotayk police department, reportedly for self-harm. The foreign individual seized a firearm from one of the police officers and opened fire.

This was reported by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MoD), Narek Sargsyan. According to him, as a result of the gunfire, both the foreign national and two police officers sustained firearm injuries.

A service investigation has been initiated in the MoD's internal security and anti-corruption directorate. Earlier reports indicated that the foreign national opened fire within the Kotayk police department, resulting in injuries.
