A Brawl Occurred in Aramus Involving the Chief of Abovyan Police
Last night, a brawl took place in the village of Aramus in the Kotayk region. Several dozen men from the community were detained.
Residents of Aramus told "Hraparak" that the Chief of Abovyan Police, Edmond Ayvazyan, has a negative reputation in the region, having reportedly shown inhumane behavior on numerous occasions. They reported that he was brutally beaten following the incident that occurred last night.
The situation escalated as Police Chief Ayvazyan personally intervened in the brawl, leading to him being subjected to a severe beating by locals. Eyewitnesses claimed that he had insulted the local residents, which triggered the violent confrontation.
As of now, the police chief is in a state of unconsciousness in the hospital.
Additionally, just moments ago, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement indicating that on July 20 at around 00:50, a foreign citizen was summoned to the Kotayk Division of the police after a report was made. According to preliminary information, he attempted to harm himself by taking one of the police officers' firearms and fired shots, resulting in injuries to himself and two police officers.
It should be noted that the foreign citizen is also among the participants in this incident. Furthermore, several dozen residents of Aramus have been detained.
