New Details Released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Regarding the Incident at the Hotel in Sevan

On July 17 at 22:41, the Sevan Medical Center reported to the operational management center of the Police of Gegharkunik Province that three men, aged 37, 56, and 41, had been admitted with gunshot wounds and internal bleeding. The first two are residents of Sevan city, while the third is from the village of Arinj in Kotayk Province.

As a result of measures taken by officers of the Sevan Police Department, two men, a 19-year-old from Noratus village and a 40-year-old from Koghb village in Tavush Province, were arrested at 22:20 in a cottage next to a hotel complex on the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway on suspicion of causing gunshot wounds. During the arrest, a firearm resembling a Makarov was discovered on the table in the cottage's living room.

A criminal case has been initiated, and all documents together with the detainees have been presented to the investigative department of Sevan. Operational-search measures and investigative actions have yielded information that the 19-year-old and the 40-year-old had been involved in a dispute with two men, aged 37 and 42, residents of Sevan and Abovyan cities, and a 36-year-old woman from Yerevan while vacationing at the hotel complex.

The disagreement escalated into a brawl during which gunshots were fired, resulting in gunshot wounds to the 37-year-old and 41-year-old men, as well as a 56-year-old security staff member of the hotel complex.

At 6:40 AM on July 18, the Sevan Medical Center reported that the 37-year-old resident of Sevan, who had sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen, died without regaining consciousness.

During the investigation of the scene, cartridges, deformed fragments resembling bullet pieces, and blood-like traces were found. Two firearms loaded with ammunition were also seized and confiscated, along with surveillance equipment.

Forensic, ballistic, and chemical examinations have been ordered. Efforts are being made to clarify the circumstances of the incident and locate all individuals involved. The 19-year-old from Noratus and the 40-year-old from Koghb have been arrested. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
