Armenia House to Operate During Olympic Games in Paris
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, welcomed the members of Armenia's Olympic team today, who will participate in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris from July 26 to August 12. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry.
During the meeting, Zhanna Andreasyan presented the athletes with special badges made for Paris 2024 in the shape of Armenian apricots, which the minister characterized as the badge of Armenia's participation in the Olympic Games. She also announced that during the Olympic Games, a "House of Armenia" will operate in the French capital, where various events and fan meetings will be organized. "It will be a small Armenia in Paris that will convey the strength and faith of thousands of fans to you during the Olympic Games. I am sure we will have opportunities to celebrate your successes, as we have often seen how, even in the most unlikely situations, you have been able to show willpower and strength, achieving important victories. I am confident that these qualities will help you forge new triumphs this time as well," Andreasyan stated.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Karen Giloyan also welcomed the members of the Armenian Olympic team and wished them success in the upcoming Games. Referring to the "House of Armenia" operating in Paris, he informed that the official opening will take place on July 25 at the headquarters of the Armenian General Benevolent Union in the center of Paris.
"I wish victory to all of you. A very strong team is heading to the Olympic Games. I am more than confident that many of the participants will be honored later for their glorious victories, and the awards, indeed, are significant. The state will reward the Olympic champion with 25 million drams. The Armenian Olympic Committee and our partner Fastex will also join the state in offering equal awards for the Olympic gold medalist. This means a considerable sum for your commendable victories. Know that the whole country is by your side," Giloyan's words are quoted by the ministry's website.
The athletes and coaches participating in the Olympic Games thanked for the reception and the support provided and stated that they would do their utmost to uphold the country's honor and perform at their best.
