“Many people made my grandfather go through hell”: Trump’s granddaughter gives a speech
The 17-year-old granddaughter of former President Donald Trump took the stage on Wednesday evening at the Republican National Convention to speak about her grandfather, whom she says most people “don’t see.”
“Because of the media, my grandpa seems like a different person,” said Kai. “But I know him as he is. He is very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country. And he will fight every day to make America great again.”
Kai mentioned that her grandfather always wants to know how his grandchildren are doing in school. “He calls me in the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going and tells me about his,” she said.
Like her grandfather, Kai is an avid golfer. She often shares photos of her golf games on Instagram.
She said she was “shocked” to hear the news on Saturday that her grandfather was shot at during his rally in Pennsylvania. It is worth noting that Trump’s injuries were not serious, although he was seen wearing a bandage on his right ear on Wednesday.
“On Saturday, I was stunned when I heard that he was shot at,” she said. “And I just wanted to know if he was okay. It was tragic that someone could do that to another person. Many people made my grandfather go through hell, but he is still standing strong.”
