Aliyev's Regime Propaganda Attempts to Distort Reality, Tigran Balayan

“As always, Aliyev’s regime propaganda futilely attempts to distort reality,” wrote Tigran Balayan, the Armenian Ambassador to Belgium and representative to the EU, in response to Azerbaijan’s statements regarding the failure of the meeting between Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev in London.

“The Armenian side has proposed and is ready to hold a bilateral meeting between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan during the European Political Community summit taking place in the UK,” Balayan added.

Earlier today, Hikmet Hajiyev, an assistant to Ilham Aliyev, announced that Nikol Pashinyan had refused to meet with President Ilham Aliyev in London during the European Political Community summit.

“It was the British side that proposed the meeting, and we consider the Armenian Prime Minister’s refusal as a retreat from the peace agenda,” Hajiyev stated.
