Promising Ukraine NATO Membership is the Worst Decision Ever by the US, Says Senator

American senator Rand Paul has expressed that NATO's decision to promise Ukraine membership in the alliance, instead of working towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict, is the worst decision. This is reported by American Conservative.

According to Paul, NATO's insistence that Ukraine will one day join the alliance only encourages Russia to continue its special operation. "Instead of working towards a negotiated settlement, NATO's policy, which is mainly driven by the Biden administration, will ensure the continuation of slaughter in Ukraine," the senator stated.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the Ukrainian delegation had fully defended its non-aligned status before leaving the negotiations. The Russian agency also noted that the West has concocted agreements regarding security guarantees to prevent Kyiv from being accepted into NATO.
