Former Trump Advisor Released from Miami Jail

Peter Navarro, a former White House advisor during the presidency of Donald Trump, has been released from federal prison in Miami on Wednesday after serving a four-month sentence for failing to comply with a congressional subpoena on January 6, CNN reported.

Navarro is expected to depart for Milwaukee to attend the Republican National Convention, where his former boss will officially announce his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. He is one of two individuals associated with Trump who were convicted for failing to comply with the demands of the now-defunct House committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol.

Trump advisor Steve Bannon also began serving his four-month sentence earlier this month in a federal prison in Connecticut.

In his 70s, Navarro worked as a legal library employee while in prison, as reported by his prison consultant Sam Mangel. Mangel stated that Navarro was well-liked by fellow inmates during his time behind bars.

During the investigation into Trump’s campaign strategies, lawmakers pointed to Navarro’s involvement in efforts to delay the certification of the 2020 presidential election results, as well as a memorandum he authored detailing alleged conspiracies related to the election.
