Daniel Ioannisyan Addresses Constitutional Amendments

Daniel Ioannisyan, the head of the Civic Consciousness NGO, has addressed the issue of constitutional amendments in a post on Facebook regarding the Constitutional Reform Council. He stated:

1. The adoption of a new Constitution will not occur before 2027.
2. The discussion of the Constitution's preamble and/or references to the Declaration of Independence has not been addressed in the council and will not be discussed in the near future.
3. The model for the future Constitution was discussed in today’s session (it is intended to set principles rather than micromanage).
4. A recording of today’s session will be published shortly by the Ministry of Justice.
5. The issue of abandoning the norm that guarantees a stable majority will be discussed in the upcoming meeting.
