Scholz Comments on Meeting with Pashinyan and Aliyev

The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, has addressed the recent summit of the European Political Community, focusing on the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“I have had many conversations here. The discussion with Mr. Pashinyan and Mr. Aliyev is also significant for me. This year is crucial for this region; it could be a year of peace if both sides take decisive and courageous steps towards each other. I took this opportunity to encourage them to do so. Europe, as a whole, will accompany Armenia and Azerbaijan on their path to establishing peace, which will be long-lasting and ensure long-term good cooperation between these two neighboring countries,” Scholz stated.
