It Will Be More Difficult to Reach Agreements in the European Union: Borrell

It will be more difficult for EU member countries to reach agreements in the new, more fragmented session of the European Parliament. This was stated by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“Reaching agreements will be more challenging, but the dynamics will remain the same. Security raises serious concerns. We have faced two wars, in which we do not participate, but they greatly affect us. The conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza are becoming increasingly dramatic,” he said.

Borrell, who will leave his position in the coming months, called on Europe to be more united.

Commenting on the recent international visits of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Borrell stated that he has the right to meet with whomever he wishes and to pursue a sovereign foreign policy, as long as it does not contradict commonly accepted policies. Earlier, the Hungarian Prime Minister had visited Ukraine, Russia, China, and the United States.
