Guidelines Published for Organizing Educational Processes in 2-3, 5-8, and 10th Grades
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has published guidelines for organizing educational processes in the 2-3, 5-8, and 10th grades in state educational institutions implementing the main state educational programs of the Republic of Armenia, excluding schools in Tavush province, for the 2024-2025 academic year.
According to the ministry, based on the state, school, and individual components established by the educational plan, educational institutions are to develop their educational plan for that year. The organization of the educational process in these grades is based on the requirements of the state standards of general education and new subject-specific regulations and programs.
The educational plan for the 2-3, 5-8, and 10th grades includes three components: state, school, and individual (elective). The state component includes the mandatory subject list for each grade and the minimum mandatory hours allocated for subjects included in the curriculum.
The hours allocated to the school component are designated for subjects defined by the institution based on the state component of the educational plan. The distribution of hours for the school component aims to accommodate students' interests, the characteristics of the educational institution, and the needs of the community. The distribution of hours for the school component is carried out based on the decision of the pedagogical council, taking into account the institution's and grade's readiness, the availability of teachers, programs, textbooks, guaranteed other educational resources, and other necessary conditions for organizing instruction.
The entire allocation of hours for the school component in the 2-3, 5-8, and 10th grades is mandatory. The hours for the individual (elective) component are allocated according to the requirements for educational groups and projects determined by the institution. The allocation of hours for the individual component takes into account the annual hours designated for the implementation of the group or project.
