I Hope to Mitigate the Sharp Points in the Relations Between the Two Countries: Gurgen Arsenyan
I hope to change the algorithm of the Armenia-Russia relations and discussions. This was stated by Gurgen Arsenyan, a member of the National Assembly of Armenia, in an interview with Faktinfo. He is set to be appointed as Armenia's extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Russia in September.
“I hope to ease the sharp points in the relations between the two countries and to change the algorithm of the relations and discussions between the two countries,” he said, emphasizing that he is using the current break in parliament to familiarize himself with materials ahead of his new position.
In response to a question about whether he has concerns that Azerbaijan's frequent demands for changes to the Armenian Constitution could eventually lead to similar demands from the international community, Arsenyan noted that due to the changes in status, he is currently obliged to demonstrate diplomatic restraint.
