Armenia Arrests Wanted Russian Citizen Accused of Speaking Out on Bucha Events

Thanks to operational and investigative measures taken by the criminal investigators of the "Zvartnots" airport line division of the police, on July 13, at 6:30 AM, 65-year-old Natalia T. was taken to the division for processing and arrested after the arrival of the Yerevan-Tivat flight. She had been wanted since July 1 by law enforcement agencies in Moscow, Russia, under Article 207.3, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code (Dissemination of obviously false information).

This information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The measure of restraint applied was a signature.

The discovery was communicated to the initiating party of the wanted notice and to the prosecutor's office.

According to Meduza, Natalia T. is a 65-year-old teacher of the Russian language and literature. The reason for her criminal prosecution stemmed from her telling students about the crimes of the Russian army in Bucha during a "Lesson of Kindness" class, showing several videos from Ukrainian media and describing Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a violation of international law. This class took place in 2022.

After detaining the Russian teacher for several hours, Armenian law enforcement released her with a requirement not to leave Armenia, and the measure of restraint was a signature on a document stating that she would not leave the country.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the Russian citizen's apprehension was communicated to the Russian law enforcement authorities.
