Putin Has No Plans to Call Trump, Kremlin Says

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to call former U.S. President Donald Trump, who has survived an assassination attempt. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, to reporters.

“As far as I know, no, there are no such plans,” the Kremlin spokesperson said in response to a question about whether Putin intends to call Trump.

Peskov commented that the atmosphere created around former President Trump by the current U.S. administration has incited the assassination attempt against him, adding that Russia does not believe that the attempt was organized by the sitting U.S. authorities.

“However, the atmosphere surrounding candidate Trump has prompted what America is facing today,” he noted.

Previously, it was reported that an assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump occurred during a rally with supporters in Pennsylvania. Gunshots were fired, after which he fell; Secret Service agents covered the former president with their bodies. Following the attempt, Trump was taken to the hospital, and his life is not in danger.

According to the FBI, the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, has been neutralized. The motive for his actions remains unknown, and law enforcement agencies have begun an investigation into the incident.

U.S. President Joe Biden condemned the assassination attempt on Trump. “I am glad to hear that he is safe and doing well. I pray for him and his family. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for saving him. There is no place for such violence in America. Our nation must unite to condemn this,” Biden said in his message.
