VIDEO: Hakob Arshakyan on the Armenia-Turkey Border

I believe that the opening of borders aligns with the interests of both countries and peoples, and I hope that this will happen soon. This was stated today, on July 12, during a press briefing by the Vice President of the National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan, while discussing the prospect of having an open border with Turkey.

According to him, there is full political will from Armenia to make open borders a reality. "Armenia occupies a very important geographical position, and we have expressed our stance in relations with our neighbors—that is the unblocking of regional transportation infrastructure. I should mention that many countries, including China, support this agenda. We believe that by overcoming such obstacles with open borders, we will create more favorable conditions for the Armenian people in terms of living standards, security levels, and the establishment of long-term peace," Hakob Arshakyan stated.

He also referred to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which mentioned that the movement of individuals with diplomatic passports across our borders will be allowed, and I hope that all these agreements will be implemented as soon as possible," he added.
