VIDEO: "Armenian History" is the History of the State's Nonexistence, Says Pashinyan
"The history of Armenia is the story of the development of the existence of the state, intertwined with moments of the state's nonexistence, while 'Armenian history' is the account of the state's nonexistence, marked by episodes of its existence," Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a government meeting today, July 11, while presenting his interpretation of the terms 'History of Armenia' and 'Armenian History.'
He emphasized that a key factor is the strategy for the sustainability of the state, asserting that his interpretation is already being accepted among society. "We place statehood, independence, and sovereignty at the foundation of our strategy and policy. I should note that the concept of the state is an entirely different way of thinking, a completely different culture, and a perspective that we must gather strength to acknowledge and confront, as this way of thinking is not always accessible to us," he remarked.
Pashinyan stated that the state must be placed at the center of public life: "In my assessment, we are in a process where we are trying to ascend towards the tower of state perception, from which the world and life appear entirely differently. This is an extremely important process," the Prime Minister said.
He provided an example, noting, "For me, unexpectedly, the reaction of Armenian citizens to images of border equipment in the Kiran area is the most vivid proof of the concepts of 'state' and 'non-state' and public attitudes towards this amplitude. This gap that exists between 'state' and 'non-state' and the thinking that exists within this gap have predetermined our thought for a long time, or our thought has expressed itself within that reality."
Pashinyan asserted that the thinking concerning the phenomenon of the state is not always accessible to government members and in discussions and decisions taking place in the government meetings and the actions of state institutions. He declared that they must ensure the transformation from the emotions of the people to the statehood of the people.
