Terrorist Planned to Enter Church and Kill Priests in Russia
Security forces have thwarted an attack on an Orthodox church in Maikop, with a man from a Central Asian country reportedly planning to kill the clergymen and set fire to the building, according to the Russian Federal Security Service.
"A terrorist act has been prevented that was planned in the territory of the Republic of Adygea by a member of a banned international terrorist organization originating from a Central Asian country. The terrorist was preparing an attack on the worship institution (Orthodox church) in Maikop, with the intention of killing its priests and guards, followed by setting the building on fire," the statement read.
