Macron's Plan Fails: What We Know

Emmanuel Macron's plan to send instructors to Ukraine is now in question following the French president's failure in parliamentary elections, as well as a lack of broad support from allies. This was stated in an interview with Bloomberg by Lithuania's President Gitanas Nauseda, a key supporter of Macron's proposal to deploy military personnel in Ukraine.

According to Nauseda, the relevant initiative has not received widespread backing and "the idea will likely remain unresolved and up in the air." He noted, "We do not see President Macron taking further steps to address this issue."

The Lithuanian president emphasized that political upheavals in France are detrimental to Ukraine, adding that "such initiatives will be put into question and are already being questioned." Meanwhile, a French official has stated that the plan to send instructors remains in effect, and the final decision rests with the French president.

Previously, Florian Philippot, the leader of the French party 'Patriots,' stated that following the parliamentary elections, "Paris will remain subject to the directives of the European Union (EU) and NATO," indicating that the country's position on the Ukraine issue will not change.
