VIDEO: The 'Beryl' Storm in the US Causes 8 Deaths, Millions Left Without Electricity

The 'Beryl' storm that has struck the United States has resulted in the deaths of 8 people in Texas and Louisiana. Over 2.5 million households in Texas have lost electricity. According to Armenpress, CNN reports that the restoration of electricity could take days or even weeks, posing a risk to residents in Texas, who are left without air conditioning in extreme heat conditions.

The storm has brought heavy rainfall and strong winds, causing rivers to flow through the streets and toppling power lines and trees that have fallen on homes, roads, and vehicles. At its peak, 'Beryl' classified as a record 5th category storm, but its wind intensity has gradually decreased. Nevertheless, the storm could still produce flooding and tornadoes as it moves inland.

'Beryl' is the first storm to reach the US during the Atlantic hurricane season. Before making landfall in the United States, it wreaked havoc in the Caribbean, resulting in an additional 8 deaths.
