French Prime Minister to Resign
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has announced that he will resign, but will continue to work until a new cabinet is formed, reports RIA Novosti.
The voting for the second and final round of the extraordinary elections in the lower house of the French Parliament, the National Assembly, has concluded. All polling stations have closed, and the counting of votes has begun.
It is noted that, according to preliminary forecasts, no party coalition receives an absolute majority in Parliament based on the initial results of the elections. According to updated predictions, the leading coalition is made up of leftist parties, followed by the pro-presidential party "Together for the Republic," and in third place is Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella's "National Rally."
