Orban Makes Statement After Meeting with Putin
The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, made a statement following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling for peace to be achieved in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“Peace is what we need to achieve,” the message states.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Orban arrived in Moscow at his own initiative. Orban is on a working visit to Moscow since July 5, intending to discuss avenues for resolving the conflict in Ukraine with Putin.
On July 2, the Hungarian Prime Minister visited Kyiv, where he proposed a peaceful plan for conflict resolution to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Specifically, Orban called on Ukraine to cease military operations and then come to the negotiating table.
